Detaching, With Love

Sometimes our friends or our families are embroiled in anger, drama, conflict.  How do we love them and comfort them – without letting their turmoil cost us our own peace?  And what does our UU tradition teach about detaching – while still loving?

David Throop has been an active UU since 1978 and a member of BAUUC since 1993. He has long been a lay-preacher and has spoken at most of the pulpits in the greater Houston area. He works as a data-scientist for Boeing, where he does Artificial Intelligence work. He and his wife Kathy have raised 4 children.
