Register your Plus card
Create an account at kroger.com with your Plus card number and zip code, confirm the email link, and sign in. No card yet? Pick one up free at any customer service desk.

Link it to BAUUC
Under Community Rewards, enter 45455 or search “Bay Area Unitarian Universalist Church,” select us, and confirm. You’ll see BAUUC in your Account Summary when it’s done.

Swipe on every trip
Kroger allocates funds to BAUUC based on what you spend. Use your registered card — or the alternate ID tied to it — at checkout for each purchase to count.
Remember: purchases don’t count until your card is both registered and linked to BAUUC.

Pledging, explained
What is a pledge?
A pledge is an annual financial commitment made each spring during Stewardship Season. Stewardship Season starts in February and runs through March, leading up to the budget for the fiscal year that starts in July.
Our budget is based directly on the amount pledged by members and friends each year — approximately 87% of the money we spend comes from pledges.
Why pledge?
Members give many reasons: it feels good to support a community they love and that promotes their values in the world; they feel committed to everyone else in the church who pledges and want to do their part; and they want this beloved church to be here for those who pass this way after they are gone.
How much should I pledge?
The answer is personal to each individual or family, and depends on your financial resources and life situation. You are encouraged to be as generous as you can — we suggest 5% of income if possible, and no minimum is specified.
How do I make my pledge?
Four ways, whichever suits you:
- Online, through the pledge form here
- On paper — forms go to new members, are passed out during Stewardship Season, and are available in the church office
- By email to our Administrator at office@bauuc.org
- By phone during business hours (9am–1pm) at 281-488-2001
How do I pay my pledge?
Many congregants pay monthly or quarterly through their bank’s bill-pay. Other options:
- Online via PayPal or credit card — recurring if you choose
- Text GIVE to 832-299-5839
- PayPal app payment to office@bauuc.org, with a note on its purpose
- A check in the offering plate, by mail, or at the office — “Pledge” in the memo line
- Cash in a provided envelope with your name and “Pledge” written on it
- IRA / 401(k) required minimum distributions paid directly to the church — not counted as taxable income; talk to your financial advisor
