The Bay Area Unitarian Universalist Church (BAUUC) Fringe Art Fest is a community-wide event for the Clear Lake and Bay Areas. This two-day festival is an un-juried event that allows fine artists at all levels to engage with the public and to promote and sell their work. The cost to artists is a booth fee only; no percentage of sales will be taken. There are only 18 booth spaces available, so early application is encouraged. Failure to comply with these rules and regulations may result in immediate termination of this agreement and the artist may be asked to leave the Fringe Art Fest without refund.
Eight booth spaces are inside. Booth size is approximately 8′ × 8′, with a few longer, narrower spaces of similar square footage. Booths are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Artists must keep all displays within their assigned booth space. BAUUC reserves the right to request changes to booth displays as needed to conform with health and safety requirements. Ten booth spaces are available outside in the small parking lot. A canopy is recommended, but it cannot be anchored in the asphalt. Sandbags can be used to stabilize. Outside booths are $35 and inside booths are $50.
All art must be created by the artist listed on the application. Artists are solely responsible for the sale of their goods. Transactions may be cash-based or taken electronically. All taxes due and sales certificates are the sole responsibility of the Artist. Only products listed on the application can be sold.
BAUUC reserves the right to prohibit the display of any item that, in its sole discretion, is not in keeping with the intent of the Fringe Fest. Items that discriminate against sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or religion, and items including offensive language will not be allowed.
Once an artist’s application and booth fee have been accepted, no refunds will be issued after October 31, 2026.
In the event of cancellation of the festival by BAUUC, the Artist shall be entitled to the return of all fees paid to BAUUC.
BAUUC is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur to the Artist or the Artist’s property from any cause whatsoever. It is the Artist’s responsibility to protect equipment and exhibits so that no injury will result to BAUUC property or any person present at the festival. On signing this agreement, the Artist expressly releases BAUUC from all such claims for loss, damage, or injury.
Artist is expected to promote the Fringe Fest to their customer base through the use of email, social media, flyers, and word of mouth. BAUUC will provide digital promotional materials to be used for electronic advertising; the content of these products may not be altered. When promoting the event, please use the hashtag #BAUUCfringefest. BAUUC will also provide advertising using the above and any other methods deemed appropriate.
Artists must provide their own display equipment. BAUUC will provide one table and two chairs. (Additional details TBD.)

Checks should be made payable to Bay Area Unitarian Universalist Church. Be sure to write Fringe Art Fest in the memo line. Checks should be mailed along with your application to Bay Area Unitarian Universalist Church, 17503 El Camino Real, Houston, TX 77058.
