Navigating Opportunities and Obstacles

Join us for a talk by former Houston Mayor Annise Parker on “Navigating Opportunities and Obstacles” on Thursday, October 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. The event is free and open to the public.

Annise Parker served as a Houston City Council Member, Controller, and Mayor—the only person to have held all city offices. She was the first out LGBTQ mayor of a major American city and was a Time Magazine 100 honoree in 2010. A past President/CEO of LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, and CSO of BakerRipley, Ms. Parker is a Professor in the Practice at Rice University. Her work reducing Houston homelessness is nationally noted.
