Rusty started out as a Unitarian Universalist in from the womb – so he really had no choice. But, truth be told, he loves his faith and would have it no other way. Growing up in the church, going through Young Religious Unitarian Universalists (YRUU), attending rallies and summer retreats, are cherished times for him. He signed the book officially when he was 16. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin with a degree in Social Work he came back home and began working in Galveston county. In 2000 he received his Master in Social Work from the University of Houston. He has worked exclusively in the greater Galveston area for over 25 years. During that time he continued to be an active member of Bay Area Unitarian Universalist Church. He has served on the Board of Directors numerous years, worked with YRUU in the 90’s, and has taught OWL to various age groups.
