UUA Common Read Discussion Group
Every year, Unitarian Universalists select a common read—a book that congregations across the country explore together to build shared language, deepen understanding of contemporary issues, and inspire collective action. This year’s selection is Authentic Selves: Celebrating Trans and Nonbinary People and Their Families. Through photographs and interviews, the book highlights the real, everyday lives of trans and nonbinary individuals, showcasing their challenges, joys, and support systems. Published by Skinner House, our denominational press, the book is available through inSpirit, the UU bookstore. You can also purchase it from Bookshop.org, your favorite bookstore, or borrow it from the Houston Public Library, which has several copies.
