” God Is Not One” Book Study and Discussion
Starting in January, join us on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 9:30 a.m. for an engaging book discussion of Stephen Prothero’s God Is Not One. In an in- depth look at eight of the world’s major religions, Prothero argues that each has made a distinctive contribution to answering eternal questions and providing guidance for how to live one’s life. Religious pluralism is alive and well in the world. Contrary to Pope Francis’ (and others’) claims that all religions are a path to God AND instead of trying to prove they are One, Prothero wants us to respect the diversity of religious faith and expression. This course promises to be educational and thought-provoking and will provide enough space for varying perspectives. God Is Not One is in stock at both the Baybrook and Pasadena Barnes’ and Noble locations and can also be purchased through Amazon. Our first meeting is January 12th in Rooms 103-104. Participants are asked to have read the Introduction to the book before the first meeting.
