UUs from churches all across North America will be gathering on June 20-24 in Kansas City for our UU Association’s annual General Assembly. The Assembly features amazing worship and music, outstanding workshops and the chance to connect and learn from other UUs. For all the details and to register, visit www.uua.org/ga.
Plan now to join BAUUC members and Unitarian Universalists from across greater Houston as we celebrate diversity and equality at the annual Houston Pride Parade on Saturday June 23. The Pride Festival and Parade are at the center of the seven-day Celebration and are annually attended by more than 700,000 people in the Houston area. This is one of our major all-church outreach events and is a high energy, positive opportunity to publicly show our support for the LGBTQ community. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us!
As part of our commitment to support LGBTQ people in our community, BAUUC hosts the monthly gatherings of the Clear Lake meeting of PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays). The group works to keep families together in loving relationships, helping them understand and affirm their gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning family members. PFLAG meetings take place on the fourth Sunday of each month at 2:00pm in Cockrell Hall. The next meeting will be on Sunday June 24. For more information, please call the Houston area PFLAG helpline at 713-467-3524.
BAUUC is now hosting the Ultimate Monday Juggle Meetup on the last Monday of each month from 7:00pm to 9:00am. The group meets in the sanctuary to share skills and build community through play. Beginners are welcome and toys are provided. All participants are required to sign a waiver and minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Juggle Meetup will gather next on June 25.
Our Women’s Spirituality Group offers women the opportunity to connect with others and explore their spirituality. The next meetings will be on Thursdays June 14 and June 28 at 10:00am in room 131. Come and enjoy this community of women as we share our lives and strengthen our spirits. For more information, please contact Julie Blanford at firstname.lastname@example.org
