Who are We? Where Did We Come From? Class

01/09/2019 - 01/30/2019

How did you become so passionate about particular social justice issues? On Wednesday nights in January, Cathy Vance will be leading a four-part workshop addressing these questions and more. The class will include brainstorming, reflecting, and writing three “legacy documents,” each on a particular issue. Writing a social justice memoir is a wonderful way to: preserve your own history and stories for others to learn from; help you understand your personal values and share those ideals; and help our community honor the causes and struggles important to its members. Cathy Vance has taught English and writing at various colleges and universities and has an MFA in Writing from Washington University in St. Louis. She has been a UU for 25 years and she has recently begun attending our church. The classes will be on Wednesdays January 9, 16, 23 and 30 starting at 7:00pm in the church library. Childcare will be available with prior request.
