Exploring Diversity Book Group

BAUUC’s Exploring Diversity Book Club is currently reading “The 13 Original Clan Mothers: Your Sacred Path to Discovering the Gifts, Talents, and Abilities of the Feminine Through Ancient Teachings of the Sisterhood” by Jamie Sams. The author is of Seneca, Cherokee and French descent. She tells stories she collected from Kiowa Grandmothers, who describe the totems and talents that come with each cycle of the moon. The stories provide insight into Native American belief systems and cultures. This paperback is available new and used.

The Group will gather to discuss this book on Thursday March 21 at 1:30pm in the church library. In coming months, the Exploring Diversity Book Group will be reading Pauli Murray’s “Proud Shoes: The Story of an American Family” and Rebecca Skloot’s “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.” For more information, please contact Jane Malin at orkidfam@swbell.net
